Located in the heart of Oconomowoc, Wisconsin. Paganica Golf is the course meant for the everyday golfer. No matter the golfers handicap you can visit Paganica and have a memorable time with us. Over the years the origin of golf has been debated. The modern game of Golf originated in 15th century Scotland that we play today. Historians have traced the history of the game to beyond the Scott’s to various regions throughout Europe.

The Roman’s developed a game that involved a bent wooden stick and a ball made of leather (filled with feathers or something similar) and it the balls were larger in range of 5.5” of diameter. The objective was to hit a pre-selected target such as a tree, rocks, or something similar and was played in two teams in opposite directions similar to the current game of Hockey. The Roman’s would call this game Paganica.

Paganica Golf Course was designed and built in 1967 by golf course designer Luke Frye. The 18-hole course features 6,576 yards of golf from the longest tees for a Par of 72. The course rating is 70.0 and it has a slope rating of 116. This course features tree-lined fairways and water hazards coming into play on seven holes. The signature hole is #4, a 427-yard, par 4, requiring an approach shot that must carry at least 186 yards over water to the green. The greens are average in size and speed, and the fairways are narrow.
